Using a Segment Variable
The first step is to change the routing configuration to add a segment variable, which will allow the route to match a range of URLs.
The segment variable is denoted using a colon (the : character), so the new route in the listing will match a URL like /table/1, and the value of the last segment will be assigned to a routing variable called id.
To access the value of the segment variable and use it to request data from the repository, make the changes shown in Listing 7-23.
In the listing, the component receives an ActivatedRoute object, which will be provided by dependency injection, and uses its snapshot.params property to get the value of the id segment variable.
